300in6 in a meeting with the US state department

At the water week in Stockholm the Dutch water sector and the US state department had a meeting to explore possible cooperation. One of the 8 themes discussed was the 300in6 initiative. The meeting was an organised by the Dutch ministry of foreign affairs.

    New Household Water Treatment (HWT) and safe storage solutions make safe drinking water affordable, even for the poorest. In business-as-usual scenarios the number of people using new HWTs will increase from 40 million in 2009, to 150 million in 2015. We now aim at 300 million people in the same six years. Our inclusive approach is based on sustainable enterprise and enabled by smart regulation and procurement policies in public, private and civil society sectors.
