The Secretariat

The 300in6 secretariat consists of a front office and a support office with different tasks but coordinated among each other. The front office is focused on implementation support, co-financing, and studies. The support office is focused on advocacy, awareness creation and effective communication.

The front office is provided and funded by Aqua for All (A4A) in the Netherlands. Its tasks include:

  • Match-making in funding and partnership building such as matching the project funds of partners with funds from other partners on a “no cure – no pay” base
  • Participation in the study “Access to Safe Water for the Base of the Pyramid”
  • Organize investors forum and social entrepreneur competition

The support office is provided and funded by A4A, Connect International in the Netherlands and the Swiss SDC and supported by the US based SWI organisation.  It consists of a group of information and communication specialists.  Tasks include:

  • Advocacy for suitable technical solutions and good business models at relevant events
  • Mastering a website, sharing information on new developments by means of a newsletter and press releases in addition to feeding such newsletters and peer publications as the WHO-HWTS Network bulletin, IRC Source and other            (multi-)media outlets (AKVO). It will describe the location and scope of the work of institutional partners.
  • Monitoring and reporting progress in reaching the 300 million target. A suitable methodology for this monitoring will be elaborated with the partner organisations and with existing efforts.
  • Publish an annual progress report of supporters and partners
